With the winter now upon us I can't help but reflect on the very different feel that a winter wedding evokes, not only in atmosphere but in the images that are produced. As a wedding photographer there are always going to be challenges and with limited daylight and much colder conditions, the comfort of the bride is a major consideration. However there are many plus sides in that they always seem very cosy and the weather is generally less of a consideration as there are no expectations for the sun to shine. It is, of course, always fabulous when it does, especially with some autumn colour left on the trees. I am currently processing images from a wedding at Dorset House in Bury that is full of autumn atmosphere and colour. The wedding images here though were from a day of full-on snow and bitter winds at Upwaltham Barns, although they still portray the fun we had and are therefore all the more memorable. That's what it's all about, making the memories and the images to relive the day over and over again.
